The Challenge
With disparate and separate legacy maintenance systems across their fleet, Stena Drilling Ltd. needed to coordinate and streamline their approach to maintenance to deliver efficiencies. It was important that the solution would deliver on time and to budget. Stena Drilling Ltd. are one of the foremost independent drilling contractors, with 4 Drillships in the Canary Islands, Israel, Guyana and Scapa Flow in Scotland, 2 Semi-Submersibles, and over 1100 employees globally.
Our Role
To deliver a full enterprise solution across the globe on time and to budget, we introduced Agile methodology. The project included the full implementation of an Enterprise Asset Management system across the fleet with full lifecycle asset management, multiple third party financial integrations and the value-add replication solution for Maximo, SDR.
The scope included the following critical elements:
- Automated integration between U4BW (AKA “Agresso” – Finance System) and Maximo
- Automated integration between Maximo & Palette (eInvoicing) and Maximo
- Custom Maximo applications, including full Lifecycle Manifesting solution, Meter reading Application and Budget Monitoring/Accounting application
Client Benefits
The project was delivered on time and to budget, with the full roll out being achieved globally in only 12 months. This enabled streamlined purchasing, so equipment is now purchased in bulk from a single vendor resulting in significant cost savings for the business.
”‘At the outset of the … project, we had our reservations over the Agile Project Management system … However, SRO has managed to stick to the original project timeline, and we have high hopes for a successful roll out over the coming months. Looking back at previous software projects, where a conventional waterfall project management system was utilised, we can definitely see the merit in adopting an Agile approach.’
